The Environmental club of the school is actively involved in various activities like 1. “No- Plastic Campaign” to sensitize the students and teachers on the harmful effects of plastic bag disposal and encourage them to use Jute bags / Paper bags instead. The school has been declared as to a No-Plastic zone. 2. Students are encouraged to utilize the waste papers in the paper- recycling unit and waste plastic jars for various other purposes. 3. Every year the school celebrates “Earth day” on 23rd April. 4. An Herbal Garden has been set up in the school in association with the NGO-Deeksha where 35 species of the medicinal plants are planted in the garden. 5. Students participated in the National school sanitation initiative launched by Ministry of Human Resource Development. 6. An excursion is organized every year to Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Combating Climate Change, Alipur to gain knowledge on eco-friendly devices and technologies. 7. The school has applied for a Rain Water Harvesting Kit and a vermicomposting kit to be set up within the school premises. Other than the above activities, the school conducts Video Conferencing with International schools to discuss about various environmental issues. These VC’s are organized by TERI, NDPL and CMS- Lucknow. CSE (Centre for Science and Environment)
